Goin’ Postal opens
Business offers customers an alternative to holiday post office lines

Farragut residents can find a way around long post office lines this holiday season: Goin’ Postal, a United States Postal Service-approved shipping company, has opened in Farragut Towne Center.

Goin’ Postal, which opened in October, ships FedEx, UPS and USPS packages.

“We can look up all the rates and see what is the best deal for our customer,” Imessa Sloan, owner and manager, said.

According to Sloan, Goin’ Postal software generates rates and delivery dates based on Zip Code and package information, such as weight and dimension.

“Some people want their package shipped the fastest and others the soonest,” Sloan said.

“We have lower rates. … We want to be a business with lower rates and more customers instead of high rates and few customers,” she added.

Goin’ Postal also offers custom packaging and boxes, laminating, mailbox rental, document shredding and freight shipment, as well as products such as stamps and greeting cards.

The store also offers prepaid package drop-off at no charge, Sloan said.

In the future, the Imessa and her husband, Robert, who runs Goin’ Postal in Maryville, hope to offer additional products such as office supplies and ink and toner cartridges.

Imessa said she also was an eBay registered trading assistant.

“I can help people trade on eBay,” she said.

The Maryville Goin’ Postal opened its doors in March.

The store’s normal hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturdays. Goin’ Postal is closed Sundays.
