Progress made at Little Turkey Creek

A convenience retail center will soon be opening off Kingston Pike at the corner of Old Stage Road.

Phase I of Little Turkey Creek, a mixed-use retail and office development, is nearing completion.

“It’s retail or office space … we have between 1,500 and 15,000 square feet available. It’s all speculative,” Robert Shagan of Commercial Realty said.

“We build these speculative neighborhood centers, convenience centers is what we call them,” he added.

Shagan said possible tenants include laundromats, coffee shops, bakeries or video stores.

“This is phase one of three,” he added. The other phases will be built as the first fills.

The first building is 15,000 square feet total; buildings two and three will have 10,000 square feet apiece.

The other buildings will be built on the property but will not touch the creek running along the back.

“We have a lot of creek frontage. I think there’s two or three thousand feet along Little Turkey Creek,” Shagan said, adding a walking trail will be built along the creek.

“We donated a strip through there for a walking trail to the town of Farragut. We named our shopping center for that creek,” he added.

“We’re still three or four months off from finishing this project,” Shagan said.

“We build these for our family, and we take our time,” he added. Shagan’s family has owned the property since 1973.
