Ingles ‘Square’ sees changes

Ingles Market has a new store manager: Jim Meschendorf.

Meschendorf said customers should not expect any changes.

“We’ll be providing the same great service we always have,” he said.

Former store manager and Farragut resident Charles “C.D.” Pressley has moved to Ingles Market in Lenoir City.

“Mr. Pressley requested a position change, and he is now at our Lenoir City store,” Ingles spokesman Ron Freeman said.

Pressley did not return phone calls by presstime.

The former Ingles store, housed in Farragut Towne Square, also is seeing changes.

Ingles Market owns the Square.

According to Community Development Director Ruth Hawk, the renovations were part of the design for the new Ingles supermarket, which opened in October.

The backs of the former Goody’s and former Ingles are being removed and pushed forward to the standard width of the shopping center.

The shallower development allows delivery trucks easier access to the new Ingles, Hawk said.

Shallower depth also allows smaller businesses to fill the empty spaces.
