Internet business finds Farragut storefront

Courtney Holden, pictured, has given a Farragut storefront to her successful Internet business, Benefit Your Life.

After two years of Web business, customers requested Holden open a retail shop, which she did after friends Overton and Linda Lea encouraged her to open near their business, Natural Health Solutions.

Benefit Your Life specializes in exclusive natural products, including beauty supplies and cosmetics, home décor and shoes and clothing.

“We have exclusive natural products. We’re not like … any of the ‘natural’ markets around here. We don’t carry any of the same brands,” Holden said.

She added any products are previewed before they are stocked to ensure they are “exceptional.”

“We preview any product that comes in and we really see if the results are there or not. If we don’t get results, we don’t carry it in our shop,” Holden said.

“To critique the product, it has to be derived from nature … and we have to be able to compare it to the same quality of product as something on the market that’s not natural,” she added.

Benefit Your Life does not buy mass-produced products.

“We support small, family-owned businesses because they put so much attention into their products, and they really care about the consumer,” Holden said.

Holden gave several examples of her selective process: BlanX toothpaste, an Italian brand, whitens teeth without stripping enamel.

“We’re the only store in the nation that sells that product,” Holden said.

Benefit Your Life also carries a food-grade hair care line, Belegenza.

“It is edible. Those are the types of products that are the most beneficial to put on your body and to put in your body,” Holden said.

The store also carries wheat-, gluten- and dairy-free food products, popular with customers who suffer from food allergies.

Holden herself experiments with the products and shares food and recipes with her customers.

“I just want to show customers that eating naturally and benefiting your life is easy and the results speak for themselves,” she said.

Benefit Your Life also carries an eclectic mix of home items, including recycled glass dishware, bamboo clothing and shoes made entirely from recycled materials.

Holden holds a drawing for a $50 gift certificate every Saturday. Customers can enter the drawing in the store, 620 North Campbell Station Road.

“We’re off the beaten path … but once you find us, you’ll be so glad that you did,” Holden said.
