Many Farragut area ACAC boys thrive at Lois Weir Invitational


Many Farragut area boys found success during Atomic City Aquatic Club’s annual USA Swimming-sanctioned Lois Weir Invitational Swim Meet Feb. 6-8 at Oak Ridge Civic Center.

Seven swim teams from East Tennessee and a team from Kentucky comprising 238 total swimmers, female and male.

Edmond Ceausu, 8, finishing third in 25- and 50-backstrokes. Nathan Benko, 9, took overall fourth in his first 500-freestyle swim and sixth in the 50-back and 200-free.

Scott Turner, 10, had three fourth-place finishes: 100- and 200-freestyles and 100-IM.

Abraham Gale took first in the 9-10 500-free, cutting 41.17 seconds off his previous best, and first in the 200-free. Abraham finished second in 200-IM, 50- and 100-free, 100-breast and 100-IM.

Andrew Bowers, 13, took fourth in 200-fly. Samuel Schechter, 14, finished first in 100-back and second in 400-IM and 200-back.

Zachary Antonas, 14, nabbed first in 50-free and claimed second in 200-IM, 100-free and 100-fly.

Blake Macnair, 15, finished first in both the 100-free and 200-fly.

Ian Baeske, 17, shaved 17.80 seconds off his previous best 200-IM and claimed fifth while finishing second in 50- and 100-free.
