Mayor files complaint on Town’s Stuhl

Mayor Eddy Ford issued a memo to then-Associate Town Administrator Gary Palmer Friday, Feb. 13, alleging “unprofessional conduct of Sue Stuhl [Parks and Leisure Services Director].”

According to Ford, he went into Town Recorder Allison Myers’ office “to discuss a matter of Town of Farragut business.”

Ford left Myers’ office to enter the general receptionist’s area. While there, he allegedly heard Stuhl “shouting and berating” Janet Curry, Town’s human resources manager.

Ford called the incident “definitely unprofessional,” and suggested Stuhl “be required to complete a course in anger management.”

Though the memo was written Feb. 13, it was not received at Town Hall until Feb. 20, after Dan Olson’s resignation as Town administrator was final and he had left Town Hall.

Palmer received Ford’s memo Sunday, Feb. 22, and issued one in response Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Palmer’s memo stated: “I addressed the issue in accordance with my duties and the personnel manual.

“As with this and all Town personnel matters, I will continue to be vigilant and responsive to the needs of all our Town employees.”
