Resident offers résumé writing class

Laura Demarse, M.Ed Career Counselor and Counselor Educator will be hosting a free résumé writing workshop at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at Farragut Public Library. The workshop will cover the basics of effective résumé writing and how to deliver a winning résumé in today’s competitive marketplace.
Demarse is a recent transplant to Farragut who moved with her husband from Charleston, S.C. Demarse brings with her success attained as past director of career development at The College of Charleston, School of Business and Economics. Prior to her tenure at the College, Demarse worked as a director of human resources for several publicly traded companies in New York City, N.Y., including Saks Fifth Avenue.
She most recently was inducted to the National Career Development Associations 2009-2010 Leadership Academy and is a published author in the areas of career development and career transitions. Demarse has a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University.
