Ott’s under new ownership structure

“Let’s do great barbecue and get our name out in the community,” new Ott’s Barbecue COO Tony Watson said about the restaurant’s goals.

Watson has joined original owner Bill Johnson in directing the “day-to-day activities” of the restaurant, and a seven-member Board of Directors has been established to streamline decision-making.

“They really needed someone to step in and make decisions for the business” that were unbiased, Watson said.

“I really love the concept and I have a lot of belief in the concept,” he added.

“We seem to be going in a good direction. We’re having really good comments on the food, which is what I want.

“Let’s focus on food and service,” he added.

Watson has brought his own dreams to the Ott’s family, including expanding the dining room, adding a drive-thru or perhaps franchising the restaurant.

“But I’m just trying to stay focused on what we’re doing right now, and do it very well,” Watson said.
