HVA softball splits district games last week
Alan Sloan - Thu, Apr, 16, 2009
Remaining well above .500 in District 3-AAA during its inaugural season, Hardin Valley Academy softball split two games last week.
The Lady Hawks, entering the week 6-4 overall, 6-3 in district, drilled Clinton 12-2 at HVA Tuesday, April 7.
“That was a good upswing for us,” HVA head coach Michael Fredieu said. “McCall Beckler [catcher] had a couple of key bunts. Courtney Fraker [right field] has gotten a couple of key hits in the last two games.”
Hardin Valley lost at Central 3-0 Thursday, April 9. “We had three errors that cost us three runs,” Fredieu said.
In its two previous games, the Lady Hawks blanked Oak Ridge 3-0 at ORHS March 31, then lost at home against Alcoa 6-1 April 1.
