Willy’s Waterfront Grille

Choto Marina will be gaining a new restaurant, Willy’s Waterfront Grille.

“I just thought the marina needed a restaurant,” general manager Steve Manolopolous said.

“Willy’s is going to be basically an all-American restaurant. It’s going to have appetizers from wings to cheese sticks to peel-and-eat shrimp.

“We have, of course, soups and salads. We have variety of sandwiches and burgers. We also have shrimp boats and fishermen platters because it’s on the lake,” he added.

The restaurant also will serve drinks ranging from wine to daiquiris and margaritas.

One of the most unique qualities of the restaurant will be its weekend live music.

“Our focus is, come to the lake, have fun, have all-American food and listen to live music,” Mano-lopolous said.

“We’re just going to open up a fun place where you can come hang out, have some drinks and we have an outdoor bar and live music all weekend,” he added.

The restaurant is closed Mondays, and is open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Fridays Willy’s is open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., with music from live bands beginning at 8 p.m.

Saturdays, the restaurant opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 2 a.m., with live bands playing from 1 to 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to midnight. Sundays, Willy’s will be open from 11 a.m. to about 9 p.m. with live bands from 1 to 5 p.m.

Willy’s Waterfront Grille will open to the public Wednesday, April 29. The restaurant will hold its official grand opening in a few weeks.

Unlike former building occupant Emma’s, Willy’s will use all of the dining space available.

“We have one outdoor deck with a tiki bar, we have another outdoor deck that is partially covered and then we have two air-conditioned bars inside and a dining room inside,” Manolopolous said.

“Upstairs is really, really nice. It’s air-conditioned, and there’s also a deck upstairs ... almost totally covered,” he added
