• High Places Community Church’s Historic Grove Theater will host a free event Thursday, April 23, entitled “Town Hall for Hope.” Presented by best-selling author and radio host, Dave Ramsey, the event is aimed at bringing a spirit of hope to Americans caught up in the doom and gloom of our current economy. • Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church plans a seminar from 3 to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 26. Topics are “Where Do You Go For Help When You Need It?” and “Keeping Your Faith Strong in Hard Times.” Speakers are Sharon Russell and Alex “Bo” Shafer Jr.

• Cokesbury United Methodist Church’s children’s center will sponsor a spring children’s consigment sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25. Half-price sale will begin at 1 p.m. Thirty percent of all sales benefit the children’s center. For more information, visit www.cclive.org

• Two Rivers Church will host Andrew Peterson in concert with special guests Jill Phillips, Andrew Gullahorn and Ben Shive at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 30.

• Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church will hold its “Fiddles and Vittles” event from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, April 25. Event will feature Melissa Benjamin, Logan Murrell, Will Tate, Newgrass Junction and the Bethel College Bluegrass Band, auction and dinner. Cost is a $10 admission fee. • St. John Neumann Catholic Church will host a family movie night at 7 p.m. Friday, April 24. “Horton Hears a Who” will be shown at the SJN school gym. Admission is free.

• Concord United Methodist Church will hold its church-wide rummage sale from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, April 24, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 25.

• The WordPlayers are offering its Summer 2009 Acting Instruction for Young People. “CreACTitivity,” for children ages 8-10, will be held from June 15 to 19 at Middlebrook Christian Ministries, 1540 Robinson Road. • The Ladies of Charity will honor the late Rev. Albert J. Henkel during its annual fundraiser, “Helping Hands and Generous Hearts,” set for April 24. The full day of events begins with the inaugural Albert J. Henkel Memorial Golf Tournament, which will be held at Knoxville Municipal Golf Course. Light lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.; participants will tee off at 12:30 p.m.

• Westside Unitarian Universalist Church has announced its next Sunday service: April 26, “Give Me That Old Time Religion: Zoroastrianism 101.” Service begins at 11 a.m.

• Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church plans a “Bikers Sunday” Sunday, May 17. A lunch will follow a special “Blessing of the Bikers.” Service begins at 11 a.m.
