Estelitas opens ‘tequila lounge’

Estelitas Authentic Mexican Cuisine held a grand-opening for its tequila lounge Saturday, April 25, following the restaurant’s one year anniversary.

“Now with the bar, I think it’s going to help a little bit … we wanted to improve the service,” Claudia Navarro, co-owner, said.

“We want to offer the best quality in food with a good atmosphere,” she added.

The bar has been long-coming, Navarro said, simply because she and husband, Mario, could not decide where to place it.

“He decided to put it [in] and I think it looks great. We’ll see what people think,” Navarro said.

“It’s going to be like a tequila lounge, and we have more than 75 kinds of tequilas,” she added. Navarro hopes to carry more than 200 types of tequilas in the lounge.

“We are going to serve all kinds of mixed drinks, but basically this is going to be a tequila lounge,” Navarro said.

“We think it’s going to be great … and the comments we’ve had up to now are very, very good,” she added.

The Farragut Republican and Kiwanis clubs meet at Estelitas, and Navarro said she was delighted with the restaurant’s place in the community.

“And the [school] kids, at the end of their [classes], they walk down the hill … and they pick our restaurant,” Navarro said.

“We are very thankful for them … we want to be helpful for the community because they have been very supportive of us,” she added

In fact, Estelitas holds pancake breakfasts for various school sports teams and clubs; most recently, the Farragut Middle School Lacrosse team.

“It was great and … we want to do more and we want to help more,” Navarro said.

“We have been in Farragut for nine years, and all we can say is we are very happy. The community has opened their arms to me and my family,” she added.
