As a “trial run,” Rotary Club of Farragut held its first in-person meeting since the end of June 2020 at its Fox Den Country Club location early Wednesday afternoon, March 3.

Mask-clad Rotarians mingled with fellow members before the meeting settled down, as 2020-21 RCF president Ed Jones struck the Rotary Bell to call the meeting to order — the first time he has been able to do so since taking office as president last July.

“We have to do Zoom, as we don’t want to exclude our virtual audience,” Jones said.

While there may be other in-person meetings in the future, he noted, “It’s one day at a time … I think we see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Meanwhile, they presented Hardin Valley advocate Kim Frazier as a new member, whom the Board approved last week, and recognized the following new Paul Harris Fellows recipients: Lee Falcher, Howard Fass, Teri Jo Fox, Leah Berry, Jim O’Brien, Jeff Reed, Brian Welch, Staci Wilkerson, Becky Duncan, Bill Rice, Mary Ann Imgram and Bill Nichols.
