• Farragut Middle School Baseball and Farragut High School Baseball freshmen teams are holding tryouts at FHS’s John Heatherly Field: FMS, 1 p.m. each day June 3 and June 4; FHS freshmen, 5 p.m. each day June 3 and June 4.

• Knoxville Catholic High School is hosting Remembering Johnny: An Evening with Coach Gene Stallings, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 7, in the KCHS gymnasium. Stallings, University of Alabama football head coach (1990-96) who led the Crimson Tide to the 1992 national championship, will speak of balancing life on the gridiron with raising a child with disabilities. Stallings son, John Mark “Johnny,” passed away in August 2008 from a congenital heart condition related to Down syndrome. Tickets are $25 per person, with dinner provided. • Registration for Sugarwood Stingrays swim team is from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 9, at the Sugarwood Subdivision pool, for ages 18-and-under.
