Results Physiotherapy offers unique PT

Results Physiotherapy owner Graeme Keys hopes his innovative business will help local citizens with musculoskeletal and orthopedic pain.

Results Physiotherapy, 11020 West Point Drive, Suite 104, opened in February.

“We’re one of 66 certified McKenzie clinics worldwide,” Keys said.

“The McKenzie method is a specific way of evaluating, treating and preventing spine problems … it is probably the most-researched entity in respect to physical therapy and spine pain at the moment,” he added.

According to Keys, the McKenzie method involves customizing exercise and education programs “to make sure the patient understands why they’re hurting and how not to hurt in the future.

“The other aspect of it is that it’s also a very hands-on approach, and we use a lot of what we call manual therapy,” Keys added.

Manual therapy allows therapists to assist patients in movements by using “their hands to move the joints and soft tissue, to allow the exercises to be more effective,” Keys said.

Result Physiotherapy promises that patients will not only always see a therapist, but always see the same therapist.

“Each patient will have that continuity of care … the therapist will be very customized to your condition,” Keys said.

Keys also believes his aquatic therapy program greatly improves patients’ health; Results Physiotherapy features the only 45-foot aquatic therapy heated pool in the area.

“Our pool is 93 degrees; it’s not a swimming pool. This is a therapy pool,” Keys said.

“You can get into the water and immediately feel warm enough, loose enough, to begin an exercise program, rather than have to keep on the move to get warmed up,” he added.

This especially helps patients with arthritis and fibromyalgia, for example, Keys said.

“We will be offering Arthritis Foundation aquatic program classes,” he added.

Although Results Physiotherapy certainly accepts patients through physician referral, it also accepts patients without referrals.

“We’re an outpatient physical therapy [office], so we can see any problem from the neck to toe that is an orthopedic or musculoskeletal problem.

“Pain or weakness, those are the things we address,” Keys said, including sciatica, post-op rehabilitation and rotator cuff injuries, to name a few.

This Results Physiotherapy location is one of 22 in the state, including one in Chattanooga and several in the Nashville and Memphis areas.

Farragut is “a perfect location for a growing community, and we think it’s under-served in this type of physical therapy,” Keys, a Farragut-area resident and businessman for the last 10 years, said.

“What we’re looking to do is offer a very specific alternative to the normal physical therapy model,” he added.

Results Physiotherapy is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call 865-777-1080.
