FMS golfer Thomas wins


Stuart Thomas of Farragut Middle School, Player of the Year as named by Tennessee Middle School Golf Association, showed his mettle at the conclusion of Tennessee Middle School Golf Association State Championship Tournament May 12 at Forrest Crossing in Franklin.

Stuart, among three boys finishing 18-hole regulation play at 73, one over par, sank a birdie putt on playoff hole No. 1 to win the individual boys state crown.

Concluding his championship magic on a par 5, dogleg left, Stuart out-dueled Carter Billingsley, Evangelical Christian School of Memphis, and Andrew Weathers, Chattanooga McCallie.

Stuartís teammates who also played in the state tourney are Chris Hutson, Jordon Jellicorse, Tommy Cianciolo†and Mitch White. FMS coach is Cary Thomas.
