FMS No. 2 in state

Despite limited golf experience from two of its players, Farragut Girls Middle School Golf Team finished second among a 16-team field in the Tennessee Middle School Golf Association state tournament May 10 at Forest Crossings, Franklin. FMS enjoyed an undefeated match season then won district and region championships. Eighth-grader Teleri Hughes, Regional Champion at Three Ridges (right), also was named All-State. Seventh-grader Maddie Strnad (left), in only her second year of golf, was named All-Region (third-place). Also helping the winning effort is sixth-grader Elizabeth Keeling (center), also playing in only her second season of golf. “It was really exciting,” FMS head coach Denise Hughes said.
