Morning Pointe holds ribbon-cutting

Morning Pointe of Lenoir City held its grand-opening Wednesday, June 3, welcoming patients to its assisted-living and Alzheimer’s Memory Care facility.

“What a blessing to be here today and see the accomplishment that has taken place on this hillside,” said Franklin Farrow, COO of Morning Pointe’s management company, Independent Healthcare Properties LLC.

“We have a lot to be thankful for,” IHP CEO Greg Vital said.

Morning Pointe of Lenoir City is the 16th trademarked Morning Pointe facility IHP has opened in the southeast.

The $7 million, 42,000-square-foot facility houses 59 apartments with specialized dining and living areas.

“The building is beautiful, but after today, everything is all about the staff and the residents,” Vital said, including executive director Pat Caron.

Quality memory care and assisted living facilities are growing more important as people live longer, he added.

“The bricks and mortar, the building, is beautiful … but what really counts is what goes on inside,” Caron said.

Morning Pointe of Lenoir City will offer assisted living programs featuring special dietary programs and meals, social activities, 24-hour care and medical monitoring, wellness programs and access to medical services and community events.

Morning Pointe, through its Lantern program, also provides care for Alzheimer’s patients in a secured residence, courtyard and gardens with home-like social areas and private rooms.

The Lantern program also provides residents “family-style meals for continuity with the past,” memory exercising, therapeutic interaction, medication and wellness management and a specially-trained staff.
