• Virtue Cumberland Presbyterian Church will begin its Wednesday night “Downhome” worship services Wednesday, July 29. The service will focus on bluegrass music, old hymns and preaching. Any local bluegrass gospel groups interested in leading a weekly Wednesday night worship service can call the church at 865-966-1491.
• The annual First Farragut United Methodist Church golf outing is set for Saturday, July 11, at Avalon. All golfers are welcome for this Four-Person Scramble. Sign in on the day of the event, which will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., but come earlier for a provided lunch.
• St. John Neumann Catholic Church will dedicate its new church building, Sunday, July 12. Seating is open at 12:30 p.m. New Knoxville bishop Richard Stika will officiate. A reception will follow the dedication service at around 3:20 p.m.
• Concord United Methodist Church’s “Concord Adult Day Enrichment Services” program will hold its third-annual Summer Time Picnic, Thursday, July 9, in CUMC’s fellowship hall.
• Memphis Theological Seminary will present “Teaching for Faith Maturity,” a Christian life-long learning seminar, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, at Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 400 Everett Road. • Westside Unitarian Universalist Church announces its next month of Sunday services: July 12, “The Desegregation of Clinton Senior High School;” July 19, “The Choice to Remain Childless” and July 26, “Keeping Hope.” All services begin at 11 a.m.
• Cokesbury United Methodist Church’s student ministry will hold its Jubilee Arts Camp for students completing sixth through 11th grades. Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., July 13-17. Students can choose between lessons about music, dance, drama and technology.
• Calvary Baptist Church will host an outreach “Studio GO Game Show” vacation Bible school July 31-Aug. 1 in Vestal. For more information, call the church at 865-523-9419.
• Children and their families are invited to Crocodile Dock vacation Bible school July 22-25 at Powell Presbyterian Church, 2910 W. Emory Road. VBS will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with a Saturday finale from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Plan to be fearless and learn to shine God’s light through adventures in storytelling, creative projects and music. This community event is planned for children ages 3 through fifth grade, with a separate class and nursery childcare offered for attending parents. • Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church’s youth are taking a mission trip to Hawaii July 16-28.
• The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints held its second annual Memorial Day breakfast May 25. Event was held to show appreciation for members of the armed forces and those who protect freedoms at home. The event ended with a free pancake breakfast that was enjoyed by more than 100 people.
