Moran team 2nd in TPGA golf tourney once again
Staff Reports - Thu, Jul, 30, 2009
Scott Moran, head golf pro at Fox Den Country Club, and partner Scott Masters finished runners-up for the second consecutive year in Waxo Green Tennessee Professional Golf Association Pro-Pro Champion-ship in Chatta-nooga July 20-21.
Moran and Masters lost in a sudden-death playoff to Loren Personett (Antioch) and Audie Johnson (Lebanon) after a two-day score of 129 (-13 under par) left the teams tied at Chattanooga Golf & Country Club.
Johnson's 30-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole was the championship-clinching stroke.
Moran, who has qualified for the PGA Nationwide Tour’s Knoxville Open the past two years, and Masters shared the $2,000 second-place share.
In all, 60 TPGA professionals from Memphis to Bristol competed in this annual traditional tournament on a recently renovated 6,685-yard, par 71 course.
