ourview: New look

Walt Disney, creator of Mickey Mouse and the Disney empire, came into TV viewers’ homes as host of “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color” Sunday, Sept. 24, 1961.

He first appeared in black and white and then, through the miracle of color TV that only RCA-owned NBC was able to broadcast, transformed into “living color.”

With this issue of farragutpress, a slightly similar experience is happening. From this issue forward, farragutpress will present its news and feature photos in full color from front to back of each issue.

We’re excited here at farragutpress with this new capability we are able to offer our readers and advertisers.

Also with its full-color capability, farragutpress has increased its length, making the newspaper now a full-sized news publication and no longer a tabloid. The newspaper was a leader in moving to a 10-inch width in 2002, which most daily and weekly newspapers converted to over the past few years

The new size will enable farragutpress to provide more news coverage in each issue and also will help farragutpress be more environmentally friendly by no longer having our pages trimmed to tabloid size, which produced wasted paper.

We’re excited about our new look and commit to continue bringing Farragut residents their hometown news.
