Horne Radio, LLC sells WGAP-AM


Horne Radio, LLC announced the sale of WGAP-AM to Clinton Broadcasters, Inc.

Nick W. Drewry, chief manager of Horne Radio, LLC, said an agreement with Ron Meredith, president of Clinton Broadcast-ers, Inc., was reached Monday, Aug. 3, and that operations at the station would change hands immediately under a lease arrangement pending final approval of the stationís license transfer by the Federal Communications Commission.

Horne Radio, LLC still operates WFIV-FM and WMTY-AM in Farragut, WKVL-AM in Knoxville and WLOD-AM in Loudon, all from its main Horne Radio studios at 517 Watt Road in West Knox County under General Manager Tony Cox. Cox also oversees WDEH-AM and WLOD-FM in Sweetwater for the radio company.


Meredith said he would return WGAP-AM to a Country Music format. He added, Trading Time would return to WGAP-AM at 9 a.m., Mondays through Saturdays.

Meredith said WGAP would simulcast with WYSH radio in Clinton. He added that the station would now have local news, and Community announcements for Anderson, Blount and Roane counties.
