Mojos, Carole’s close doors
Heather Mays - Thu, Aug, 13, 2009
Two businesses in Farragut Town limits have closed in recent weeks, one due to an Internet scam.
Mojos Rock Shoppe in Renaissance | Farragut closed its doors after owner Joe Pierce became victim of an Internet scam.
Pierce did not return phone calls, but Renaissance developer R. Knick Myers said, “We are very sad to see them go, as they will be missed.”
“Mr. Pierce was a victim of a very elaborate Internet scam and was taken for a large sum of money. Had it not been for that, they were doing great, had a great staff, and a really incredible inventory,” he added.
The 1,920 square foot space is available for lease.
Carole’s Interiors & Gifts, formerly at 607 N. Campbell Station Road, also has closed.
Owner Carole Brailey could not be reached, but a spokesperson for building owner M&M Development said Carole’s closed months ago.
“She did move out. … She told us she was closing,” Karen Branch said of Brailey. Branch did not know a reason.
Carole’s former space also is available for lease.
