Boomsday set for Sunday, Sept. 6

The 22nd annual Chrysler Jeep Boomsday Festival is set for from 1 to 10 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 6, on Neyland Drive and Volunteer Landing in downtown Knoxville.

This year’s festival will feature Knoxville’s Navy Week, set for Sept. 1-7. The event hosts three live performances by the Navy Freedom Band.

Fireworks kick off at 9:30 p.m., choreographed to an original soundtrack produced by Star 102.1 FM.

Admission to the 2009 Chrysler Jeep Boomsday Festival is free to the public with nominal fees for parking, games, food and beverages.
