VolleyDogs, FHS start 4-AAA fast
Alan Sloan - Thu, Sep, 17, 2009
Farragut and Bearden volleyball started District 4-AAA play fast last week, with the Lady Ads tripping a recent nemesis.
FHS (19-4 starting the week) avenged an early season loss to Catholic, winning 2-1 in games, then defeating William Blount 2-0 at WBHS Thursday, Sept. 10.
David Moore, FHS head coach, said one key versus KCHS was the “huge” scoring of Kayla Hartman (11 assists, 10 service points), while middle hitter Kelsey Bellich “probably had her best night” (eight kills, four blocks).
BHS (15-8 starting the week), swept West and Maryville Sept. 10, led by Tara Robertson’s 14 kills, nine blocks and Sloane Gouffon’s nine kills, four blocks. “Whitney Tate had a good service match,” head coach Jennifer Allen said.
