Concord Road’s ‘expected’ new open: 3p, Friday

It appears to be “finally” ready, as some residents would say.

In preparation for all lanes of the new Concord Road (State Route 332) construction project to be open — which is “expected” to happen Friday afternoon, Nov. 19, according to a Tennessee Department of Transportation press release — the outside lanes will remain closed until Friday while paving takes place, leaving one lane open in each direction.

Construction of concrete islands near the Concord Road/Northshore Drive roundabout also will occur, according to the release.

“... There will likely be intermittent lane shifts to allow the contractor to pave the outside lanes each day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.,” stated Mark Nagi, TDOT Region I Community Relations officer. “This work is expected to be complete, and all lanes open by 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19.”
