SGA-Love Kitchen: helping trumps records

Collecting the equivalent of 33,000 cans of food for The Love Kitchen during a 12-day span (Monday, Nov. 1, through Friday, Nov. 12), the Farragut High School Student Government Association-led Canned Food Drive once again set a new school record.

The leading annual contributor to this East Knoxville kitchen/pantry for those in need, SGA students, teacher sponsors, parents and fellow FHS students combined their efforts with help from Farragut Middle, Intermediate and Primary schools in reaching the record.

However, “The real purpose ..., which SGA really pushed this year, was that it wasn’t about beating last year’s total. It’s about fighting food insecurity and helping a community to have a happy Thanksgiving and to have a successful and great rest of their years,” senior Hannah Brennen, SGA president, said.
