No. 3 BHS edges No. 7 Collierville; No. 11 Farragut dominant twice

While Farragut was dominant last week, the state’s No. 3-ranked Bearden Lady SoccerDawgs capped off a 3-0 week with a come-from-behind victory versus No. 7 Collierville Saturday, Oct. 3.

Trailing 2-1 in the second half, BHS (15-1-0) got Samantha Turner’s second goal before the go-ahead tally from Ashley Roth came with under 10 minutes to play.

“That’s only the second time all year we’ve been behind, and I was real happy the girls came back,” BHS head coach Eric Turner said.

Bearden also slid past Lenoir City 1-0 Tuesday, Sept. 29, at BHS’s Bruce Allender Field then blanked Knoxville Catholic 3-0 Thursday, Oct. 1, at KCHS.

Farragut, ranked No. 11 with a 9-4-2 record entering the week, made short work of William Blount in an 8-0 drubbing Sept. 29 at FHS’s Bill Clabo Field, then got a hat trick (three goals) and one assist from sophomore midfielder/forward Skylar Brewer in a 6-0 victory at Karns Oct. 1.

“I feel like we’re moving on, I feel we’ve done really well,” said junior forward Ashley Reveiz, who scored one goal along with a hat-trick in assists.

Kiley McCarley and Brooke Jenike also scored against Karns. Chelsea Jordan had one assist.

Dennis Lindsay, FHS head coach, said, “Our passing is getting a little crisper, we’ve been passing the ball better in the last few games. We’ve made some changes, and they’re looking better.”
