FHS Volleyball wins 4-AAA
Bearden finishes 2nd

With a strong final week to the District 4-AAA Volleyball regular season, ending with an effort head coach David Moore labeled “the best we’ve played all year,” Farragut claims yet another league championship.

Beating Knoxville Catholic 25-17, 25-17 at KCHS Thursday, Oct. 1, the Lady Ads finish 4-AAA regular season play at 12-2 (35-7 overall) while dropping KCHS to 10-4.

Though losing to Farragut last week at FHS, Bearden bounced back and rallied to beat Catholic in three games and, with a sweep of Heritage and West Oct. 1, finished second at 11-3 (34-12).

Sloane Gouffon, BHS senior standout outside hitter, said about her team’s play against the Lady Irish, “I’ve never seen us play that well, ever.” Gouffon had 11 kills and five points.

FHS also swept Lenoic City Oct. 1. “Riley [Miller] and Chelsey [Smith] passed well all night and Meghan [Glintenkamp] did another good job,” Moore said.

Senior Kylann Scheidt, district Most Valuable Player, had eight assists, 10 kills against Catholic, while Kendall Knisley had four blocks, Kelesy Bellich six blocks and Paige West six kills.

Farragut All-District honors also went to Miller (Co-Best Passer), Kayla Hartman (Co-Best Server) and Kassie Detechemendy.
