La Parrilla opens in Turkey Creek


Turkey Creek is home to a new Mexican restaurant, La Parrilla, which opened in mid-September.

Cuisine is typical Mexican, owner Eduardo Ayala said, but with special touches.

“We would like to say it’s a normal Mexican restaurant, but we like to put something special on,” Ayala said.

“We like to do something special,” he added.

Opening in Turkey Creek was no accident, Ayala said.

“We see a good potential area” in Turkey Creek, Ayala said of his choice to open the restaurant in Farragut.

“There are no Mexican restaurants there. We have Abuelo’s, but that is different,” he added.


“We were thinking it was a good area to open a good Mexican grill,” he added.

Menu items include everything from burritos, quesadillas and enchiladas to special dinner items, as well as soups, salads and sandwiches.

Ayala pointed out his restaurant is not affiliated with a franchise La Parrilla chain based out of Atlanta, Ga.

“La Parrilla is not a franchise,” Ayala said, although he and his brothers also own a restaurant in Oak Ridge.

La Parrilla seats about 150, and will seat more once its patio is open, which Ayala hopes is soon.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday; from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays; from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sundays.
