Admiral Vet celebrates 20 years

Admiral Veterinary Hospital, 204 N. Watt Road, is celebrating 20 years in Farragut.

“I can’t believe it’s been 20 years. It’s gone by so incredibly fast,” Dr. Debby Calloway, founder of the hospital, said.

“I never cease to be amazed at how much I still enjoy doing this,” she added.

The practice has become a family affair she said. Children who once visited the hospital with their parents and pets were now returning with children and pets of their own.

“That’s what’s fun for me, is to grow up with the families. I love the community out here,” Calloway said.

“My thing is to spend time with you, to get to know you, your pets and your family. If that’s what you like, then we’re meant for each other,” she added with a laugh.

Calloway said she chose to open her own practice because she wanted to put her own “homespun feel to it.”

“It’s been amazing to watch it grow,” she added.

“We get a lot of congratulations, a lot of people remembering,” Jennifer Johnson, practice manager, said of the anniversary.

“We’ve had a lot of people who are telling us stories,” she added.

Admiral Vet offers general veterinary care, as well as pet grooming and boarding.

“We offer your general veterinary services … which are things like bi-annual exams and preventive care,” Johnson said.

“And then we offer full surgical services, diagnostics including blood work, X-Rays, ECGs, ultrasound. We do complete dental care, meaning we do extensive extractions and digital radiography,” she added.

The Hospital also offers a boarding facility, Camp Paw Paw, and grooming at Woof Wash.

Both the boarding and grooming are open to dogs and cats.

Calloway is joined by other veterinarians Dr. Stephanie Hickey and Dr. Julianne Delzer.

Admiral Veterinary Hospital is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays.
