$7,100 ‘granted’ to Knox County Catholic schools

Teachers at Sacred Heart Cathedral School and Knoxville Catholic High School have been awarded more than $7,100 in grant money through the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Teacher Grant Program. The SEAS grants are named after a guild of women at Sacred Heart Cathedral parish, who organize and run the SH Children’s Consignment Sale in the summer.

Proceeds from the sale fund the grant program. Teachers apply for grants in September and they are awarded in October to be used for the current school year. The majority of students at each school will directly benefit from these grants. Many creative and essential projects and supplies are purchased with these funds.
