Justin Alexander, Webb School of Knoxville senior righthanded pitcher/outfielder, signed to become a student-athlete with Tennessee Tech, Cookeville, in Webb’s Lee Athletic Center last month.

Named to the Division II East All-Region Team and selected for Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Underclassman team, Alexander has been a three-year varsity starter. He finished the 2009 season with a .360 batting average, including 13 doubles, while in 57 innings pitched compiled a 3.07 earned run average with five wins and 72 strikeouts.

“Justin Alexander is an outstanding baseball player ... He is a high energy player and his enthusiasm is contagious,” said Webb varsity head coach Clark Wormsley.

He also was a standout defensive back on Webb football’s Division II-A state title team (see page 1B).
