Fast start for FMS hoops girls


Farragut Middle School Lady Admirals basketball team remained unbeaten in conference play after notching three victories recently.

The Lady Admirals overcame a lackluster first half to beat the West Valley Wolves 25-17.

Kristen Freeman and Rebecca Jameson led all scorers with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Farragut went on the road to beat South-Doyle Middle School 48-28.

Mady Newby was the leading scorer with 12 points while Madison Maples added eight.

Kelsey Rookstool and Sofia Valencia added four points each. Lexi Williams, Sabree Wilson, and Gracie Mabry came off the bench and provided strong defense.


The girls ended the week with a 40-27 win against Northwest Middle School.

Josie Jennings had a team high eight steals and added five points versus Northwest. Maples had a season high 18 points, and Jameson scored eight.

Annie McMurry handled the ball and played tough defense, while Anna Woodford and Miranda Burt provided effective inside play and key rebounding.
