Five-pitcher shutout for Ads at Vandy

NASHVILLE — Closing out the 2022 regular season in the stadium of a college baseball powerhouse, Farragut and Christian Academy of Knoxville traveled to the mid-state.

Behind a near flawless effort from five pitchers, the Admirals improved to 20-11-1 by blanking CAK 3-0 at Vanderbilt’s Hawkins Field Monday evening, May 2.

Winning pitcher Jaxson Pease went just two innings (one hit, no walks, one strikeout), while closer Eli Evans got the save in the seventh inning (one hit, one walk, two strikeouts).

In-between, Braylon Hall worked two innings (one hit, one walk, one strikeout), followed by Michael Delph’s one inning (no hits, one walk, one strikeout) and Eli Miller’s mound work in the sixth inning (no hits or walks).

Meanwhile, shortstop Lukas Bucker led the Farragut offense with two hits. Garrett Brewer provided a double and an RBI, while Jett Johnston and Jake Merrick each had one hit and one RBI.

Evans doubled while Brennon Seigler added one hit.

Blanking Providence Academy 10-0 at FHS’s John Heatherly Field Saturday, April 30, Evans led offensively with two home runs and a double, while Ellis Gleed had two hits and scored one run. Seigler and Gavin Brewer each had a hit and two RBI. Mark Underwood, Delph and Landis Davila had a hit and one RBI apiece.

Winning pitcher Ryan Wallace worked four innings (three hits, three strikeouts). Kam Sanders went 0.2 innings (no hits/walks, one strikeout).
