Parkside GreenBank robbed

Knoxville Police Department and the Knoxville division of the FBI are searching for a suspect in the armed robbery of GreenBank off Parkside Drive, Monday, Jan. 4.

At about 12:25 p.m. Monday, a white male suspect entered the bank, 10201 Parkside Drive, and verbally threatened bank employees with a gun while demanding money.

Witnesses stated the man was in his late 20s or early 30s, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, and weighing approximately 160 pounds.

He was wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket, black and white tennis shoes and a toboggan style hat, and was carrying a small, white, soft-sided bag.

The man obtained an undisclosed amount of money, then left the scene in a white Ford F-150 pick-up truck.

The truck was recovered shortly after the robbery, and was determined to be stolen from Florida.

The suspect is believed also to have robbed Regions Bank, 7821 Kingston Pike, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or KPD at 865-215-7212.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the suspectís arrest.
