FMS girls basketball wins Karns Christmas tourney

With an unblemished 4-0 record during Karns Christmas tourney, head coach Chris Cavalaris’ Farragut Middle School girls basketball team claimed a championship.
Farragut beat host Karns 36-10 in the title game. Lexi Williams came off the bench to lead scoring with nine points, followed by Josie Jennings with eight.
Rebecca Jameson added six against Karns, Madison Maples four and Mady Newby, Kristen Freeman, Anna Woodford and Kelsey Rookstool each chipped in two points.
The Lady Ads beat Gresham Middle 34-11 in the first game, then slipped past Northwest Middle 34-27.
Maples led all scorers with 11 points against Northwest and Newby added 8.
Farragut then beat Grace Academy School 33-19 in semifinal action.
