‘Mamma Mia,’ FHS Performing Arts Co. musical, set
Directed by theater teacher Dr. Tony Wooley, the musical, made up of more than 60 cast, tech crew, stage craft class and pit band members, will present the production, which is open to the public, beginning at 7 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 8-10, in Vickie B. Wells Auditorium at FHS.
“We would love for any and all people to come see it,” said Jasmyne Baker, APAC’s chief communications officer who also will portray Tanya in the 2008 musical.
“Mamma Mia,” was written by Catherine Johnson in her book from the 1999 musical of the same name. The story is about a bride-to-be trying to find her real father, told with music.
“The music is well-known songs of the 1970s’ band, Abba, and the show is one that my students have been asking to perform for years,” Wooley said.
Tickets will cost $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
“We will have a system of online payment closer to the show, in addition to paying cash at the door,” Baker said. Wooley added the link to buy tickets will be live after fall break.
The lead cast members include Sophie, portrayed by Annabelle Garcia; Donna, Virginia Klenske; Tanya, Jasmyne Baker; Rosie, Bryson Keasling; Sky, Case Pappas; Harry, Jude Smith; Bill, Adam Hooyman; and Sam, Mason Cross.
“There was a very competitive audition process that determined the roles of the show,” Wooley said.
New this year is an all-girls stage craft class led by Wooley.
