Farragut Primary School teacher Rachel Drake lets students know “Character Counts.”

Students demonstrating good behavior are selected each month to be a part of a special lunch through the Character Counts program.

Character means “to be nice and give others something,” kindergartener Rylee Troop said.

FPS student Lily Whitworth said, it’s important to “be polite and say, ‘excuse me.’”

Ashlyn Sheridan said she is polite with her little sister: “I give her stuff when she wants.”

Hayden York said, “cleaning up in the lunch room” helped him be a part of Character Counts.

The “Shoney Bear” was there for the children, giving a coloring packet with a coupon for a free kid’s meal at Shoney’s.
