BHS task: Beech, then Melrose or Siegel

Hendersonville Beech, Region 5-AAA power (30-4) making its second straight TSSAA state hoops appearance, is Bearden’s first-round opponent in the Class AAA state tourney today, Thursday, March 18, at Murphy Center, MTSU, in Murfreesboro.
If the Bulldogs (31-2) survive a 2:30 p.m. EDT opening tip versus Beech, the Memphis Melrose (34-4) versus Siegel (24-8) winner awaits in Friday’s semifinals beginning around 6 p.m. EDT.
Appearing in its second consecutive state tourney, BHS’s survival into the state title game would set up an opening tip around 7 p.m. EDT, Saturday, versus White Station (26-8), Northeast (28-2), Dobyns-Bennett (22-11) or Columbia (20-10).
