Wreck slows rain-drenched traffic

The driver of a 2001 Pontiac was transported to The University of Tennessee Medical Center by Rural Metro Ambulance service following a collision with another vehicle Thursday, March 25, on Kingston Pike in Farragut.

Glenna Druif of a Lenoir City address was transported to UTMC after the car she was driving, pictured above, allegedly rear ended a 2003 Honda driven by Sandra Hamm of Knoxville.

Knox County Sheriffís Office reported Hamm and witness Christina Parent, also of Lenoir City and riding with Hamm, said Druifís car left the road after striking the Honda and collided with an LCUB utility pole located in front of First Baptist Concord chapel.

Monday a crew from LCUB, pictured left, replaced the broken pole at an estimated cost of about $2,000.
