Chamber auction April 23
Tickets on sale now

Roll out the red carpet and cue the spotlights.

Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual auction and dinner, themed “Hollywood Sensations,” beginning at 6 p.m., Friday, April 23, at Rothchild Catering.

“You’re the star for the evening,” Chamber president and CEO Bettye Sisco said.

“It’s our 23rd year, and the people giving have been incredibly generous.

“We want people to come to have fun, and to have some items to bid on: we have high-end items, and items in a range everyone can afford,” she added.

Last day to buy tickets is Monday, April 19.

Cost is $100 per couple or $55 per person for Chamber members. Cost per person is $65 for non-members. Packages also are available for tables of ten.

To register or for more information, call the Chamber at 865-675-7057.

The event begins with a silent auction, followed by a “double entrée,” according to Sisco, and a live auction emceed by auctioneer Bear Stephenson.

“The items we have coming in this year are absolutely fabulous,” Sisco said.

“We have a build-your-own wine cellar, we have tires, we have a shopping spree at Tiffany, we have beautiful gift baskets … jewelry.

“We have a special gentlemen’s basket, you might say, and several overnight resort type things, including a nights’ stay at The Grove Park Inn,” she added.

In keeping with the theme of the night, Rothchild will be decorating in old Hollywood style.

“It will all be done in black and gold: all the chairs will be covered in black, black with gold sashes,” Sisco said.

Stars and starlets will walk down the red carpet.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Kids First Child Advocacy Center; the Chamber donates $1 per ticket, and then matches that total amount.

“They’re a new member and we just feel that we want to help support the kids of today and help them have a better tomorrow,” Sisco said.

“We pick a charity and do this for every event,” she added.

Money raised for the Chamber goes to its continuing education grant program and other educational events put on throughout the year.

According to Sisco, she also is looking for a few more tabletop decorations — which also will be auctioned off — and additional sponsors.

“We are almost full with tabletops, but could use a few more,” Sisco said.

Event sponsors are Lenoir City Utilities Board and Rothchild Catering and Conference Center. Community sponsors are Mercy Medical Center West, First Utility District, NHC Place Assisted Living, Tennessee State Bank and Humana.
