Oysters, wine, beer, marina: It’s Oysterfest April 17

Local businesses are sponsoring and participating in the 15th annual Oysterfest, to be held at Concord Marina at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 17.

Farragut Wine & Spirits, The Shrimp Dock and Smoky Mountain Brewery join a host of other sponsors in bringing the event back to Concord Marina and benefiting Childhelp Tennessee.

“It’s for a worthy cause,” David Purvis, co-owner of Farragut Wine & Spirits and president of Childhelp of East Tennessee, said.

“Childhelp runs the Children’s Advocacy Center and a foster family agency for physically and sexually abused children,” he added.

Oysters, mussels, fish and seafood dishes such as shrimp ’n grits and jambalaya and even barbecue chicken will be provided by The Shrimp Dock, Bayou Bay, Puleo’s Grille, Manny’s Catering, Daddy Wigs BBQ and All Occasions Catering.

Beer will be provided by Smoky Mountain Brewery, wine by Barefoot Wine.

Beer, wine, water and soda are complimentary with the cost of the ticket. A cash bar will be available.

According to Purvis, the event also will feature a live and silent auction, as well as live entertainment from Dave Landeo Band and Second Opinion.

Event will be held rain or shine; tents will be provided.

Cost is $75 per ticket; 50 percent of that cost is tax deductible. Order online at www.knoxoysterfest.com or call 865-637-1753.
