SoccerDawgs keep winning close games

It's hard to be more battle-tested in close games than the Bearden SoccerDawgs.

Three more one-goal victories last week, two coming among a tough tournament field in Memphis over the weekend, leaves the state's No. 2 SoccerDawgs 13-0-1 entering the week.

“I thought we played extremely well,” BHS head coach Eric Turner said. “Our defense and our midfield played outstanding once again,” adding center-defenders Garrett Ball and Adam Wojnar “are having outstanding years.”

After a scoreless tie versus Christian Brothers April 16, BHS rebounded, beating Independence 2-1 Saturday as Conner McCarty and Ben Ferguson each had one goal and one assist.

BHS followed with a 1-0 victory versus Houston Sunday, as Seth Williams' goal, assisted by Alex Wilkerson, was the difference.

Opening the week with a 2-1 win against Maryville April 13, Ferguson and Williams scored — both assisted by Ryan Ramsey.

The week's only breather was a 7-0 versus William Blount April 14.
