Restaurants celebrate Mom on her special day


Restaurant owners are gearing up for their busiest day of the year: Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 9.

• Aubrey’s Restaurant, 102 South Campbell Station Road, will have a feature appetizer of crab cakes and market catch of sea bass; featured entrée is prime rib, along with featured side of green beans and featured dessert, banana pudding. • Baker Peters Jazz Club, 9000 Kingston Pike, will serve brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with prices ranging from $18 to $25. Children under age 12 eat for $10. Accepts reservations; call 865-690-8110.


• Bonefish Grill, 11395 Parkside Drive, will serve special entrees cedar plank arctic char, deluxe mix grill, sautéed flounder in the Imperial style and Jamaican coconut pie. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Accepts reservations; call 865-966-9777.

• Chop House, 9700 Kingston Pike, will serve a 6-ounce filet feature with a half-skewer of shrimp, along with its regular menu, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Accepts reservations; call 865-531-2467.

• Connor’s Steak and Seafood, 10915 Turkey Drive, will serve from its regular menu and is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Accepts reservations; call 865-966-0933.

• Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, 11287 Parkside Drive, will serve from a brunch menu, including a fresh fruit or wedge salad, an appetizer, entrée and dessert, as well as several specials. • Lakeside Tavern, 10911 Concord Park Drive, will serve a special brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., then will serve from its regular menu until 10 p.m. Serving on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call 865-671-2980.

• Naples Italian Restaurant, 5500 Kingston Pike, will be open from 11:30 to 2 p.m. for lunch, and from 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner. Lunch specials are egg strata, fire-grilled beef tenderloin and lobster potpie. Dinner specials are fire-grilled beef tenderloin, lobster potpie, Alaskan halibut and spinach and blue crab ravioli. • Regas Restaurant, 318 North Gay St., will serve a roasted turkey and dressing or rosemary pork tenderloin special, plus dessert and drink specials, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Mother’s Day, all moms get one red rose. • Ruth’s Chris Steak House, 950 Volunteer Landing Lane, will serve a three-course meal for $39.95, including a soup or salad, choice of three to four entrees and a dessert from noon to 8 p.m. Restaurant gives mothers a $25 “bounce back” certificate, applying money to mom’s next visit. • Tennessee State Parks will offer a special Mother’s Day buffet at all eight state park restaurants beginning at 11 a.m. Selections and prices range from $12.95 to $14.95. Group reservations recommended; visit www.tnstate-parks.com.
