UT Vet College to host wildlife rehab seminar


The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine will host the “Introduction to Wildlife Rehabilitation Seminar” Saturday, May 22.

The seminar lasts from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will be held in room A118 at the college, which is located at 2407 River Drive.

The seminar, which is co-sponsored by the college, East Tennessee Wildlife Rehabili-tation Council and the Tennessee Wildlife Educators and Rehabilitators Association, is open to the public for ages 16 years and older. Continuing education credit hours are available for veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians. Topics include common emergencies of wildlife, rabies update, rehabilitation regulations and a wildlife techniques lab. Speakers include veterinary college faculty and staff, and representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.


The fee for the seminar is $15 for those registering before May 15 and $20 at the door. Advance registration is requested to ensure adequate food and supplies.
