• At the state PTA convention, Tennessee PTA honored Hardin Valley Academy Principal Sallee Reynolds with “Outstanding Principal;” HVA PTA was named “Outstanding High School PTA” and for the second year, Knox County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jim McIntyre was named “Outstanding Superintendent of the Year.” Knox County Council PTA was named Outstanding Council. Awards were given based on those that urge community involvement and are supportive of the PTA.

• Farragut High School senior recital: Nathan Budge and Josh Jeter will perform for the community at 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 14, at FHS auditorium. Admission is free. As members of the FHS Marching Admirals Band, the duo will perform music they feel represents them as musicians.

• Farragut High School Class of 1985 is celebrating the good ‘ol times during a weekend event Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19. Get ready to share in the memories since those fateful days and visit the place they called home (and some still do). Friday evening will offer a lakeside bar-b-que at the home of classmate Cliff Kirk. This will be a casual outside event under the East Tennessee sky to reconnect with old friends; with entertainment provided by David Landeo.
