• Christian Academy of Knoxville announces the addition of three new coaches to its athletics staff. Jodi Vineyard is new CAK Swim coach. As a backstroke specialist at Florida State University, Vineyard finished as an ACC champion in the 100 and 200. Eddie Powers will be taking over CAK's middle school football team, while Kevin Winslett will serve as CAK high school football assistant and will teach ancient history and modern history.

• Farragut Baseball, Inc. to offer flag football this summer, with sign-ups at FB, Inc. Field 1 concession stand (complex located off Northshore Drive) anytime that concession stand is open. A limited number of slots available in each age group. Sign-ups end June 12.

• 2010 Lady Admirals Softball Camp runs Tuesday through Friday, June 1-4, at FHS’s Bellamy Field. Pre-registration is from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 30, at the field. Cost for ages 8-10 is $75, which is morning session fro m 8:30 a.m. to noon. Ages 11-15 is $90 for all-day session, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration forms may be picked up at FHS or Farragut Middle School or on- line at the FHS Web site (softball page).

• Longtime Webb School of Knoxville teacher and coach Warren Heiser has announced his retirement from coaching at the end of this school year. Heiser has coached Spartans cross-country teams to four state championships - mentoring the boys for the last 35 years, while coaching Webb girls cross-country for 26 years. Heiser also coached Webb boys track for 31 years and Spartans tennis for six years. Beginning his teaching career at Webb in the fall of 1974, Heiser will continue teaching English in Upper School.

• The Society of Friendly Fellows hosted the first National Parkinson Foundation Fundraiser during Farragut High School Baseball Turn the Clock Back Games Thursday, April 29. Donations totaled $2,165.3. Society leaders thank all who donated at the event as well as the sponsors with their support through being a vendor and/or donating merchandise. • Farragut Lady Admiral Volleyball Camp for rising fourth- through eighth-graders runs 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., June 14-17, in FHS's Lynn E. Sexton Gymnasium. Cost $100. Deadline June 7. Sign up at Knox Sports Center. For more info, Annette Hartman, 865-806-8934.

• The 33rd Annual Tennessee Sports Medicine EXPO 10K/5K will take place at 8 a.m., Saturday, May 29, at Civic Auditorium and Coliseum. Both the 10K and 5K will start is 8 a.m. for all runners and walkers. Late registration fee is $25. Late Registration and mandatory packet pick-up will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Runners Market at Western Plaza, 4443 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919. • Town of Farragut Parks and Leisure Services Department announces only two team spots remain for Spring Kickball Tournament scheduled for Sunday, June 6, at Mayor Bob Leonard Park off Watt Road.
