Foothills Bank continues renovations

Extensive renovations are underway for Foothills Bank and Trust, which will be opening in the former CBBC building in front of the old Kroger in Farragut.

Steve Kitts, Knox County executive for the bank, said the bank should open in mid- to late-July.

“We’re trying to open it up a little. … The inside will look completely different,” Kitts said.

The renovations include moving the entrance from the front of the building facing Kingston Pike to the side, and changing the roofline. New offices and a conference room also have been added inside.

Renovations were in order for the building, which Kitts said was slightly dated.

Kitts said he has come full circle with the building. He once worked for the bank that built the building in 1984.

The Farragut location of Foothills Bank and Trust, 11215 Kingston Pike, will be Foothills’ third location in the Greater Knoxville area.

“The bank is based in Maryville,” Joe Hamdi, executive vice president, said in a previous interview with farragutpress.

“Farragut was part of the original plan when we formed the bank. … We feel it is a good market for us to help some existing clients that we have, and also be able to provide services for the rest of the community there.

“We do have a lot of customers there already; we want to expand that base,” he added.

The bank will be full service.

“We’re really on the lending side: specialize in small business loans, real estate loans, mortgage loans, and then on to the … checking accounts, CDs, cash management for businesses and Internet banking,” Hamdi said.

Kitts said Foothills is not involved in insurance or investment services.

Kitts said the bank will be staffed with four local employees, including a branch manager and a mortgage financer.

“We’re going to be part of the community. Our number one priority is to take care of our customers, and we feel we’re really good at it,” Hamdi said.
