Five players from Farragut High School’s chess team won the 2023 State Team Championship Saturday, March 25, in Nashville, besting 13 other teams (14 wins and two draws). Led by team captain James Nguyen (holding the title trophy) who also ia a National master and state champion, other team members, from left, are Stephen Xiao, Jason Lee, Justin Li and Jared Li. Not pictured is Fran Li, Justin and Jared’s father, who helped with driving and chaperone responsibilities.
